Scholarship Overview & Application

General Information

A limited number of scholarships are available to support the attendance of consumer representatives at the National GAINS Center's 2010 Conference. Scholarships may cover some or all of the following costs: travel, meals, registration, and lodging.  These scholarships are intended for individuals who consider themselves consumers of mental health/substance abuse services, particularly those who also have a history of contact with the justice system.

Criteria for awarding scholarships:

Defining Justice Involvement

Examples of involvement with the justice system may include, but are not limited to: interaction with a Crisis Intervention Team or a pre-booking jail diversion program; arrest; participation in any alternative to incarceration program, drug court or mental health court; incarceration; or community supervision programs such as probation and parole.

Supporting Material

As part of your application, please submit any relevant supporting material relating to your involvement in efforts to improve services for people with co-occurring disorders in the justice system.

Submitting Your Application

The application deadline is Tuesday, December 15, 2009. Mail, fax, or email your completed application, along with supporting materials, to Brian Case.
